Situated in a military CTR and located on a military excercise field, it was quite simple to receive an aviation monument to be an eyecatcher for our Sanicole Aviation club. One problem, the aircraft we received for this purpose was in a very bad shape. The authorities decided to destroy the "wreck" of this F-84. But, this was for Sanicole the trigger to do anything possible to save this poor oldtimer from execution...
A rescue scenario was deployed and we transported on a rather spectacular way this beautiful jet to our airfield. For many hours many enthousiastic collegues spend their free time to restore our F-84 in a way that it could be a valuable entry eyecatcher for the airfield. In the meantime we prevented it for degeneration and achieved our second target... Keep it as a symbol of military aviation for the future. In 2004 the project will proceed until the finish.
