| Yearly Aeroclub Sanicole organises a lot of events. since the time I joined this cosy Pilots club, none of these events gave me a bad feeling. On the contrary, every time again, each event pleases me and Elvira a lot. Every time again I have the feeling that only nice and friendly people join this club. On the time that cooperation and teamspirit is required for a successful organisation, this is well measureable during the happening. Neither if it is a social clubevent or a hard-working commercial necessity for the financial status of the club, everybody who has the possibility to give a helping hand is willing to do this. Sanicole organises a yearly International Airshow. A one-day-happening on which we welcome yearly more than 16.000 visitors. More than 300 volunteers are giving a helping hand and guarantee together a successful meeting. More about this in our page "Yearly Airshow". A couple of times during the year we organise a club-trip to an aviation related subject. I.e. this year, during the month of january, we celebrated 100 year of motorised flight with a collective visit to the aviation museum in Brussels. We started this glorious day with the first test that one of our clubmembers did with his self-designed and build delta airplane. Afterwards we visited the maintenance site of Brussels Airlines (former Sabena technics) during which a lot of information and guided presentations were organised. Impressive... And, of course, such a day was closed with a club-lunch at a local restaurant... The club saved an old F-84 jet from being destroyed. We made a nice project around this opportunity and restored this beauty in a way that it will be the eyecatcher of the airfield. Another sort of "social" events which often take place in our Flying club is the celebration of all kind of anniversaries. i.e. last year, we celebrated one of our oldest pilots. Piet Tamborijn, former Starfighter Fighter Pilot of the Belgian Airforce who celebrated his 70th anniversary. Especially for this occasion all his friends offered him a flight in a Stampe-Vertongen SV4, the kind of airplane in which he learned to fly, years ago...
